PartyDub
PartyDub — where your voice becomes the character. ← bold Grab your friends, pick a clip, and take over the characters' voices. Everyone records the same scene at the same time — alone, hearing nobody else. Then all the versions play back one after another and the room votes on whose is best. Nobody has heard anybody else until that moment. That is the whole game. How a round works ← heading Pick a clip. The host picks a short video from their own device. Its lines are found automatically — there is nothing to mark up. Get cast. Players are split into teams, one person per character. You only find out which one you got. Perform blind. Record your lines one at a time, redoing any of them as often as you like. Nobody else can hear you. Watch and vote. Every team's version plays back in full. Vote for the best one — you can't vote for your own. What you need ← heading A browser and a microphone. Nothing to install. The host needs a free account; everyone else joins with a six-character room code and no sign-up at all. Works on desktop and on phones. Two people is enough to play. Four to eight is where it gets loud. Where your clip goes ← heading Nowhere. Your browser reads the video and sends it straight to the other players in the room. To find the lines worth dubbing, the audio alone is downmixed to mono and analysed — held in memory for a single request, never written down. Recordings live in memory for the length of the round and are gone when the session ends. There is no feed, no gallery, no sharing, and no database row with your voice in it. What happens in the room stays in the room. Free, and what supporting adds ← heading Hosting and playing are free forever — 4 players per room, clips up to 5 minutes. Supporting it monthly raises that to 8 players and 10 minutes, and adds automatic line-marking plus a watermark-free download of the round. Bring your own material ← heading PartyDub ships no clips and hosts none. It is an instrument you point at footage you already have the right to use — your own recordings, your own video, anything openly licensed or that you hold the rights to. Early access — still in development. ← boldThings move, break, and get better most weeks. Bug reports and ideas are genuinely welcome: there is a report button inside the game, or use the contact form at partydub.com/contact.
